Additionally, Evans wanted to succeed by reverting to traditional songs of the country genre, which were re-created by legends like Patsy Cline, Hank Snow, Tammy Wynette, George Jones as well as Patty Loveless, musicians Evans thought of as her most influential influences. Evans' first success came in the 1990s when many aspiring country singers turned to pop-friendly songs. The debut album she released in 1997, True Lies, was a prime example. True Lies, though it got a positive review and received nominations from the Academy of Country Music for the top female vocalist of 1998 however, was not able to create any lasting impression. Evans is set to release her follow-up album that year, No Place That Far was a result of bowing to producers that convinced that she needed to expand her repertoire. Finally, she received the recognition that she has been wishing for ever since she was a child. Sara Evans was born February 5, 1971, at Columbia, Missouri.
